Your burning questions answered

PRODUCT FAQ

What's the difference between HD and OG?

HD has a wider wrist support and wider hand coverage. Our OG design has a thinner wrist support and more minimalist hand coverage, designed to fit the human hand. Which is better? That's purely personal preference, generally speaking bigger athletes tend to prefer the HD. Those who like less bulk on their wrist prefer the OG.

Should i go a size up for fingerless?

If you're experienced with this style of grip then potentially yes. However you do not need to have a lot of excess hanging over the bar like you might see some athletes do. Especially with how grippy these are, it doesn't aid in keeping you on the bar. We do not recommend sizing up as it increases the risk of getting grip locked on the bar. Sizing correctly will also reduce discomfort considerably and likely improve the longevity of your grips.

Should I chalk these?

We highly recommend using without chalk, although you can still use them with chalked bars (they'll still perform the same as your typical carbon fibre/diamond fibre grip)BUT they are WAY better without. It's essentially this, if you've felt how good they can be, why would you want anything less? Keeping them clean after or before a session only takes a small wipe down with a wet cloth (or sweaty armpit, gross but effective). Most of the time if you wipe the bars they're used on they won't themselves even require any kind of wipe down or after care. If they ever feel slippery-er it probably means they're due a clean or the spot you're grabbing on the pull up bar is caked with chalk. An easy fix with our micro-towel included in your grip bag.

What pull up bars do these work best with?

Almost every pull up bar out there, but may not perform as well on speal bars/zinc coated. It's mixed reviews but generally speaking cleaned down bare steel bars as a whole are okay. That being said when we say not as well, we mean how they would be on other bars. They may still perform better than you current grips. But we would still recommend our Elite Lites for chalk free steel bar work or Fibres/Base for chalked steel bars. Do not use with taped bars, doing so will void your warranty

What's the difference between Base Grips and Elite Grips?

Base is our original grip which uses a classic synthetic leather surface, they're best used with chalk and in chalky environments. Same is true of our Fibre Grips. Our Elite Grips are our specialised rubber surface which has a "omg game changer" grip surface and are chalk free.

Should I go fingerless or fingerholes?

One way you can decide is how you grab the pull up bar. Thumbs around, fingerhole may be better, Thumbs over, fingerless may be better. Especially when using for muscle ups thumb over the bar is the recommended use when completing bar muscle ups. But it does come down to personal preference. Fingerholes also offer other options such as to be used on KB's or on a barbell as needed. It's also worth noting you do not necessarily need to put your fingers all the way in the fingerholes, and just to the first knuckle will often give you more of a dowel effect to lock onto the bar with. Again test and trial and see what works best for you.

Are there any adjustments needed when using these grips?

The main differences is remembering to open the hand to let go instead of sliding off the bar, 'with great grip comes great responsibility' and it's important that you remember that, what keeps you locked onto the bar is also what will stop you coming off. So a couple of things to consider:

- Always use first in a warm up setting or a skill setting first, before jumping into a workout. And certainly before competing.

- Practice letting go vs sliding off, it's a small adjustment and won't take long to feel natural

- When performing movements such as muscle ups you will need to learn to relax/open your hands at the top. Thumbs around athletes, we would recommend using finger holes as driving the thumb into the grips can cause them to tighten excessively and get grip locked. Again practice first before completing in a workout under fatigue. Small adjustments that will make the movement a lot more comfortable.

These grips will transform all of your gymnastics movements, but may need time to adjust if you're not use to just how grippy they are.

*We do not recommend using for pull overs if you're a) new to the grips and/or b) yet to achieve proficiency in this movement. Again remembering to open the hand as you rotate around is key.

What about in competition where the bars are all chalked up?

Simple, wipe them down. It takes literally 15 seconds, dampen one end of your towel and wipe the sections you require, then dry with the other side, test with a grab of your hand to ensure it's dry. If you're in a team that requires chalk, keep their hand prints chalked and yours cleaned. If the bars are long generally there will people using the same chalked portions of the bar so simply move to one side and you'll be off and away Frog Maverick.

So much better than the old ones I had. Great grip on the bar. Could not have hoped for more. Also comes with bag and wrist bands. Nice touch.

Customer video review of FROG GRIPS® ELITE OG FINGERLESS - Lavender

I’m so glad I bought my 2nd pair of frogs! I only thought I disliked them and couldn’t understand why my first pair I kept slipping off the bar… they were chalk grips. So now that I finally have the chalk less grips I know what all the fuss is about 🫶🏻

FROG GRIPS® ELITE OG FINGERLESS - Lavender

The grips are great! I have started wearing the wristbands underneath to help with some of the rubbing - it is an extra step but worth it.

Customer photo review of FROG GRIPS® ELITE HYBRID - FINGERLESS BLACK

The new wrist strap on the Elite Hybrid grips is extremely comfortable and the grips stick to everything. Smooth or textured bars, chalked or not chalked, you’re good to go!

FROG GRIPS® ELITE HYBRID - FINGERLESS BLACK

I've had many different types of grips over the years. These are the first grips that actually have helped me! Im able to get a better hold on the bar and now able to do more than a couple of pull-ups at a time! Excellent product, totally worth the money!

FROG GRIPS® ELITE FINGERHOLE - Pink

Don't walk, run to your computer to order a set of these grips and measure accordingly they are perfect, do not size up. Best grips I've ever owned and they do not hurt my wrists, my toes to Bar are so good now thanks to these. A++++

Customer photo review of FROG GRIPS® ELITE HYBRID - FINGERLESS BLACK

My biggest problem was always excessive sweating, and with them, no matter what condition my hands are in, with or without chalk, I can continue my workout.

FROG GRIPS® ELITE HYBRID - FINGERLESS BLACK

I was recommended frog grips by a friend. They are so worth it. Helps grip onto the bar for much longer. And the orange colour is so cool.

FROG GRIPS® ELITE OG FINGERLESS - Orange

Work perfectly. Couldn’t recommend them enough. I struggle with sweaty hands so occasionally I need to put a little chalk on my own hands under the grips, but they work fantastically for me compared to any I’ve tried in the past.

FROG GRIPS® ELITE HD FINGERLESS - Lavender

Grip came quick, I enjoy the wider wristbands, being a medium-sized individual at 5'11 and 200 Lbs and purchased Large. The metal piece for ratcheting the Velcro around the wrist is happily displaced from the bony protrusion if the wrist. The grips themselves are great, love the cut of the material vs just straight cuts like some other top choices. Do not purposely over-size, ask customer services if there's any doubts. The wrist sweat bands and cleaning cloth are an added bonus and the bag was surprisingly well thought out and perfect for them. Overall, definitely recommend.

FROG GRIPS® ELITE HD FINGERLESS - All Black

Absolutely love these grips! 🙌 They’ve got great grip, feel super secure on the bar, and have held up brilliantly through PU, TTB and high-volume sessions. Comfortable without feeling bulky, and they’ve given me the confidence to push harder without worrying about my hands. 💪🔥 Highly recommend these.

FROG GRIPS® ELITE HD FINGERLESS - Orange

Best grips I’ve ever used. I love the larger wrist straps that provide support and don’t hurt my wrists. Have been recommending them to all of my friends!
